Sew, Mama, Sew! Giveaway Day!

Thanks for all the lovely comments -- the Giveaway Days are over, but I'm looking forward to doing this again in December!

Every day in May, I've thought, "Man, I need to blog!" I have so much good stuff to share -- cakes and recipes and and knitting patterns and pictures of a handsome senior as he barrels toward graduation. Plus, pictures of the premiere of our kindergarten graduation play, "The Three Colorful Little Pigs", in which the pigs are house painters and teach the big bad wolf the joy of mixing paint. (While last year's "Goldilocks" was met with rave reviews and they still chant 2009's "Tiki, tiki, timbo" in the school halls, I think the pigs was our best effort yet, perhaps because it was a musical! More on that later . . . )

What really drove me to blog today is the annual Sew, Mama, Sew! Giveaway Day. I haven't had much time to sew lately, but I'm "friends" with SMS on Facebook; when I read that it was giveaway time, I was excited to make up a little something and jump on the bandwagon. So, here is my entry:


Puppy Love Pillow

Just a simple little embroidered puppy, framed with a bit of kitchen towel fabric and some Japanese dog fabric. The envelope-style back is the rest of the towel!
If you would like a chance to win this pillow, just leave a comment below by midnight EST on Wednesday. Comments don't have to be fancy -- just say hi, tell me your dog's name, or what you like to sew. Be sure to leave a way for me to contact you if you win, or check back here on Thursday, May 27 and I'll post the winner, who I will choose with a random number generator.

I have a huge project due tomorrow, but after that, I'm sitting down with a cup of coffee and wandering through the giveaways; last year, there were so many I didn't get through half of them, but got a lot of great ideas. So many ideas, too few hours to sew!

    That is adorable!! We have three dogs - Fenric, Zodin, and Jabe. If I won this sweet pillow it'd have to go to my great-nephew though, who currently has *13* dogs, due to my sister waiting too long to get their girl dog spayed. :o

    My younger daughter loves dogs. She has about 12 stuffed animals ones. I think if she had a dog pillow, she would want to sleep all the time. I can hope, right?!

    We don't have a dog yet, but are eagerly anticipating the day when we do. I love making eco bags and have just started to learn quilting. Your puppy pillow is too precious!     Hi! LOVE the pillow! So does my dog crazy son! We have two fabulous dogs- Berkeley and Amelia. My son calls them the Shmog Dogs. It's adorable. His bed is full of stuffed dogs and I just made him jammy pants out of a fun yellow cotton with puppy dogs all over it!

    Loving this pillow:) I have 2 rescues: Maggie is nearly 5 and she is a pit and shepherd mix. Oscar just turned 3 last month and he is a chocolate lab and pit mix. They are the best-est dogs in the world and I am thankful each and every day that they were at the shelter waiting on me to find them:) Love my babies so much!!!
